Lilies On The Lake

Erin Hanson's Lilies on the Lake is an inspiring artwork, and much like her Grand Canyon Light,
I created the cut design to integrate with the painting's landscape.  I worked to reveal what I took to be the image's hidden ecosystem: a peaceful scene of people and animals going about their business on this pond during a vivid summer day.  Look for the five symmetrical whimsies which can be assembled flipped over.
